INTERCOLLEGIATE STUDIES INSTITUTE
Education
CLIENT: Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) , a non-profit, non-partisan, educational organization focused on college students, and the values and institutions that sustain a free and humane society.
CHALLENGE: Attract more students, educators, parents of high school students, and others interested in the philosophy of the Institute.
SOLUTION: Increase memberships, donations, events and lecture attendance, and sell more books from their publishing department.
STRATEGY: We were pleasantly surprised when we discovered a virtually untapped wealth of recorded media going back 50 years from the inception of the organization. The recordings featured lectures and talks from noteworthy speakers during those decades. So, Syndicate Pictures developed an online media library containing over 400 video and audio recordings. We made this available to the public for free. And, we also created branding and DVD packaging for the recordings, and added to the library with additional lectures from across the nation.
Additionally, we developed a controversial cartoon animation campaign for ISI's college guide book. The promotion included production of a two- minute cartoon, as well as a series of banner ads showcasing the book on major online news websites. Besides the paid advertising, the cartoon was spread through the major social networking groups, and their network of college group partners.
RESULTS: ISI's programming increased by five- fold, the book department printed 10 times more publications than usual, the staff tripled, and the organization attracted many new members.
